Fine Arts
 

Intro to Fine Art (Oil Painting + Drawing)
(Ages 13+)

Instructor: Diamond Vigil
A practical introduction to the materials and techniques of oil painting. Learn palette layout, color mixing, methods of paint application, and the selection, handling and clean-up of materials. Investigate issues of color and composition.

Join us for fun and learning about different artists while drawing, painting, and making crafts.

It's a Stamp! Intro to Printmaking
(Ages 16+)
Instructor: Richie Pena

In an exciting five week course, learn all the beginner skills of printmaking. Class will cover safety, equipment use and proper techniques, before exploring lino printing, dry point, and kitchen litho. Class instruction on Thursdays with Tuesdays & Saturdays for flex working days.

Let's Talk Sketchbook!
(Ages 13+)
Instructor: Maya Ayres
If you are someone who has always struggled with keeping a sketchbook then this class is for you. A fun, laid back exploration of different ways to work and fill a sketchbook from an experienced artist with demonstrations and completed sketchbook flip throughs.

Pottery
 

Wheel Throwing
(Ages 18+)   

Instructor: Lida Scharton

Students will learn the basics of how to throw on the wheel. They will be provided with 25lbs of clay and the use of all Firehouse glazes.

Open Pottery Studio (Age 18+)

Students with prior ceramics experience may sign up for open studio use of the ceramic room. The fee covers use of wheels and glazes. (Beginning Sept. 1, the fee will not cover the use of Firehouse glazes.) Firing is only done by Firehouse personnel when kiln is full.

Yoga

Yoga
(Ages 15+)

Instructor: Lindsey Gomez

A breath-centered vinyasa (flow) Hatha yoga class that will calm the mind and rejuvenate the body. The class will include a brief meditation at the beginning and end that will help you become more in-tune with your breath as well as quiet the busy-ness of the mind. Practice will be adapted to suit all levels from beginners to experienced practitioners.

Culinary

 

Pasta Date Night
(Ages 18+)

Spend an evening creating, cooking, and enjoying fresh handmade pasta and bread together. In this hands-on date night class, you'll learn the fundamentals of pasta making—from mixing and kneading dough to rolling, cutting, and shaping pasta from scratch. No prior cooking experience is necessary—just bring your appetite and your favorite person.

Piano Lessons

(Ages 6.5+)

Private piano lesson for kids and adults, beginner to intermediate level tailored to the needs of each individual student.

Tuition: $15/lesson/must pay for full month 

Voice Lessons

(Ages 7+)

Instructor: Molly Harman

Voice training using customized vocal exercises is the key to unlocking your vocal potential and building solid technique. Private voice lesson for kids and adults, beginner to intermediate level tailored to the needs of each individual student. 

Mon-Sat, Aug 10-May 22 | 30 minute lessons

Guitar/Ukulele

(Ages 7+)

Instructor:  Alejandra Urteaga

Private guitar or ukulele lessons where students will learn the fundamentals of guitar or ukulele.  Students will learn how to play melodies and accompany songs using chords. Lessons will progress from beginner to intermediate skillsNo experience needed, just bring your instrument and enjoy making music.

Theatre
 

Musical Theatre
(Ages 6.5-18)

Calling all actors and actresses!!  Join us as we learn how to sing, act, perform, work behind the scenes, and much more in the world of theater. 
Performance: Feast of Sharing in Nov, Nutcracker Dec 19, Dance Recital/Musical Theatre Production May 15
There will be extra practices as we prepare for a performances. 

Tue, Sept 1-May 15 | 5:30-6:30 
Tuition: $35/monthly

Advanced Musical Theatre
(Age 12-18)

Instructor: Molly Harman

Actors and actresses take the next step to advance their skills as a performer.  (8-11 yr old  students may check with Miss Molly to see if they are eligible for the advanced class).

Workshops
 

Custom Monster Plush 
(Ages 11-18)

Instructor: Maya Ayres

Let's create some funky, creative plushy monsters for the month of October. Each student will get to design, build and decorate their own custom plush in a cute monster mash theme

Fri, Oct 23 | 6:00-8:00

Tuition: $25 | 1 class

Registration Information:

  • To register for a class, visit our class registration page

  • Class spots cannot be held until payment is received

  • You must pre-register for all classes

  • DRCA Members receive a 10% discount

  • Classes may cancel due to insufficient enrollment, students will be notified by phone

  • Full refund are given only if class is canceled by the Firehouse. If a student wishes to cancel before the first class day a full refund less 30% will be given.

  • No refund after first class

 

Note to Parents:

In order to better serve you and insure the enjoyment and safety of our youngest art patrons,

please be on time to pick-up your child. 
Please let us know if your child has any special needs. All classes are designed to be age appropriate and you will need to contact the Firehouse if you are interested in having your child attend a class outside of his/her age limit. Thank you for your interest as we continue to provide quality art education!

Scholarships based on economic need are available.

One scholarship a year per family.
