Classes are open to girls and boys and are designed to hone their acting skills, general stagecraft and vocal skills.

Classes will focus on applying and bringing together the disciplines of singing, acting, and dancing, to create an effective presentation. Performance will be held in the spring.

Missoula Workshop-Acting (Grades 3-12)

Instructor: Missoula Residents

All the world’s a stage,” and all your students, merely players! This workshop explores the basic tools of an actor’s trade - observation, memorization, concentration, and imagination - in an entertaining way. The students participate in fun exercises, learning to apply the actor’s tools to performing and their everyday lives.

Missoula Workshop-Improv (Grades 3-12)

Instructor: Missoula Residents

Listening, creativity, bravery – all important skills for the Improv Actor to hone. This workshop emphasizes teamwork and “all-in” participation as the students learn to act without a script. Students of any experience level will be successful in this workshop.

Missoula Workshop-Put Your Best Foot Forward

(Grades K-2)

Instructor: Missoula Residents

Get your groove on with this fun, physical workshop. Students will learn different styles of movement and dance used in Theatre to create an interpretive dance of a classic fairytale! This workshop is great for all levels of movers.

PopStars (Ages 7-18)

Learn to socialize, harmonize, and perform in a group. The group performs music from a huge range of genres with hopes of performing around Del Rio.

Private piano lesson for kids and adults, beginner to intermediate level tailored to the needs of each individual student.

Voice Lessons (Ages 7+)

Voice training using customized vocal exercises is the key to unlocking your vocal potential and building solid technique. Private voice lesson for kids and adults, beginner to intermediate level tailored to the needs of each individual student.

Wheel Throwing (Ages 18+)

Instructor: Lida Scharton

Students will learn the basics of how to throw on the wheel. They will be provided with 25lbs of clay and the use of all Firehouse glazes.

Open Pottery Studio (Age 18+)

Students with prior ceramics experience may sign up for open studio use of the ceramic room. The fee covers use of wheels and glazes. Firing is only done by Firehouse personnel when kiln is full.

Fiber Arts
 

Crochet (Ages 15+)
Instructor: Nancy O'Brien
Not a class but a gathering for those that enjoy crocheting. Share new projects and stitches every other weekend in the Firehouse Gallery.

Fine Arts
 

Beginner Oil Painting/Drawing (Ages 15+)
Instructor: Diamond Vigil
A practical introduction to the materials and techniques of oil painting. Learn palette layout, color mixing, methods of paint application, and the selection, handling and clean-up of materials. Investigate issues of color and composition.

Yoga

​

Yoga (Ages 15+)

Instructor: Lindsey Gomez

A breath-centered vinyasa (flow) Hatha yoga class that will calm the mind and rejuvenate the body. The class will include a brief meditation at the beginning and end that will help you become more in-tune with your breath as well as quiet the busy-ness of the mind. Practice will be adapted to suit all levels from beginners to experienced practitioners.

Registration Information:

  • To register for a class, visit our class registration page

  • Class spots cannot be held until payment is received

  • You must pre-register for all classes

  • DRCA Members receive a 10% discount

  • Classes may cancel due to insufficient enrollment, students will be notified by phone

  • Full refund are given only if class is canceled by the Firehouse. If a student wishes to cancel before the first class day a full refund less 30% will be given.

  • No refund after first class

In order to better serve you and insure the enjoyment and safety of our youngest art patrons,

please be on time to pick-up your child. 
Please let us know if your child has any special needs. All classes are designed to be age appropriate and you will need to contact the Firehouse if you are interested in having your child attend a class outside of his/her age limit. Thank you for your interest as we continue to provide quality art education!
